Plan a poetry celebration. Make it very special.
- Invite parents or another class to your poetry readings.
- You can make a recording of children's poem and create a QR code so others can listen to this recording. Post published poem and QR code where others can access with a device. (See example and instructions below)
- Create an iMovie using children's poems and readings and post on YouTube or class blog to get authentic feedback of their poetry writing. (See example below)
- Have a formal reading, where the children read one or more of their poems to an audience. Or, you can have children sitting in poetry reading stations divide the audience into groups that go from station to station to hear the poetry.
Creating a QR code like the picture on the left, is a great web tool to use that would provide readers a quick access to the voice recording of the student's poem.
Using a free voice recorder app on any IOS (Apple) device would be great start. Record your students individually on the app and then share the recording to your email address. (google accounts work well)
As you open your email, you can download the recording right to your drive, then you will need to click on the recording and right click and press share. Make sure to set permissions of this recording to public and then copy the link that is provided. Continue to QRstuff.com paste your link, copy the QR code and paste it onto a the published poem. Please see diagram.
